Split Accommodation Piccolo is located on the first floor of an old house in the very center of Split. Piccolo is a one room apartment, 25m2 in size, suitable for four guests. The apartment has one double bed and two bunk beds. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, toaster and all basic cookware. For your comfort, the apartment is air conditioned and there are all the basic necessities such as linen and dishes.
Split Accommodation Piccolo is situated right next to the Diocletian’s Palace, which makes the accommodation a part of the city center. Diocletian’s Palace is one of the best preserved monuments of Roman architecture in the world. It was built as a imperial mansion divided into four parts by two main streets. The southern part of the palace was meant for the Emperor and the northern for army and servants. Over time, the palace has changed, and the residents adjusted it to their needs, so the Emperor’s mausoleum has turned into the Cathedral of St. Duje which is thought to be the oldest cathedral in the world.
The palace is bounded by four gates: golden gates in the north, silver gates in the east, brass gates in the south and iron gates in the west. In the time of Diocletian, the South gates of the palace were a sea exit, and now they take to the waterfront – Riva, which is one of the most popular places in Split. Within the palace, you must see the Cathedral and bell tower of St. Duje, the cellars of the palace, the Temple of Jupiter and many other sites.
